The Cultural Center of Charlotte County held its first student Art Show on Saturday. Art students at the Learning Place exhibited their works and a judging was held in each category, including acrylic, ink, abstract, and oil, with ribbons awarded in each category. A reception was held at the center honoring the exhibiting students and their instructors, showcasing the students’ works as well as those done by the instructors. The exhibit will be shown through Saturday and is open to the public. Here, Patty Johnson of North Port received first place for her abstract painting. Johnson says she "had not taken any art classes since seventh grade."
