PUNTA GORDA — While most Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office employees haven’t received a raise in six years, Sheriff Bill Prummell has given his highest-paid staff an across-the-board salary increase, according to department records.

Prummell said he realigned senior command staff salaries from a rank-based pay scale to a percentage of his salary, $127,859, which increased the minimum salaries for 13 high-ranking positions. In some cases, employees received raises of around $9,000.
