Tampa duo charged in fake credit card bust

NORTH PORT — Dozens of counterfeit credit cards, thousands in cash and a foot chase that ended with a man locking himself inside a gas station bathroom led to the arrest of a Tampa couple at Wal-mart Friday, according to the North Port Police Department, who said the duo were using stolen credit card numbers to purchase gift cards from the store.
Arrested were Lisveidys Sarduy, 38, and Alain Ceballos Rodriguez, 31. Sarduy was charged with 14 counts of fraud-illegal use of credit cards, one count of fraud-obtaining property under $20,000 and one count of trafficking in counterfeit credit cards. Rodriguez was charged with 11 counts of fraud-illegal use of credit cards, one count of fraud-obtain property under $20,000, one count of trafficking in counterfeit credit cards and one count of resisting arrest.
