PORT CHARLOTTE — Kayla Johnson’s RBI single in the sixth inning scored Jen Gering for what turned out to be the winning run as Charlotte High School rallied to beat Port Charlotte 5-4 on Tuesday in a District 7A-11 game.
Tarpons starter Courtney Sunnarborg got out of two bases-loaded jams unscathed and overcame bouts of wildness to get the complete-game win.
