NORTH PORT — A 56-year-old driver lost consciousness in a Publix shopping center Monday and struck the wall of a business in the plaza, North Port police said.
According to a North Port Police Department report, just before noon, Louis S. Perfetto of North Port was driving a four-door 2005 Toyota in the parking lot of the Shoppes at Price Crossing, in the 1100 block of W. Price Blvd. on the eastern side of the city. He lost consciousness and the car careened across the lot and over a curb, striking the wall of a Metro PCS cellular phone store. Witnesses began CPR on Perfetto, who was not responsive, until North Port Fire Rescue arrived, the report shows.
