Reid review draws mostly praise
Randall Reid
REID
SARASOTA COUNTY — A year after taking the reins of Sarasota County government, County Administrator Randall Reid has come away with mostly good reviews — and a bit of sharp criticism — in his first performance evaluation by commissioners.
Reid was tasked with rebuilding the top of the county government in January 2012 after a procurement scandal that saw the March 2011 arrest of county employee Rodney Jones on corruption charges and the resignation of former county administrator Jim Ley. Commissioners gave Reid excellent and above-average marks in categories ranging from professional skills, commission relations, reporting, citizen relations supervision and fiscal management.
