The Punta Gorda Speedway has canceled its racing schedule for today because of its ongoing lease dispute with the Charlotte County Airport Authority, owner Kevin Williams said Friday.

Williams, the owner of the Punta Gorda Speedway for the past two and a half years, announced last month that he and partner Mike Chase had purchased the DeSoto Super Speedway in southern Manatee County. They plan to rename it Full Throttle Speedway. Williams said the grand opening there will be April 20.
