PORT CHARLOTTE — Ron Schuyler will not return to the Academy at Charlotte Technical Center as principal, even though the investigation into allegations he altered student grades is still ongoing, Charlotte County school officials confirmed this week.

Karen Laporte, the district’s former director of secondary education who served as interim principal, was named new principal of the district’s alternative high school last week, according to district spokesman Mike Riley.
