Waterfront motel to become a Holiday Inn

The Punta Gorda Waterfront Hotel & Suites, formerly a Best Western, is undergoing renovations and is scheduled to be converted by July into a Holiday Inn Resort. The former Benedetto’s restaurant next door also is undergoing renovation and will emerge in March as the Waterfront Grill.

The Punta Gorda Waterfront Hotel & Suites, formerly a Best Western franchise, will take on a new look and a new name in early July, being born again as a Holiday Inn Resort.
And its next-door restaurant at Retta Esplanade and U.S. 41 South, formerly Benedetto’s, will also have a new name — Waterfront Grill — and a new, eclectic menu when it reopens in mid-March.
