NORTH PORT — Principal Justin Matthews proudly explained Monday’s groundbreaking on a $1.8 million gymnasium at Imagine School at North Port was nearly three years in the making.

In front of the school’s governing board members and Imagine’s middle- and high school students, Matthews promised the 17,000-square-foot facility along Toledo Blade Boulevard would serve as the proud home of volleyball, wrestling and basketball games for years to come.
