CHARLOTTE COUNTY — Brooke Kvaternick is a passionate young lady. The L.A. Ainger Middle School student loves to play softball. So much so, she has endured two knee injuries — dislocating it twice — but even those painful setbacks will not stop her from playing.

At an event last week, Kvaternick’s passion was evident when she was selected as the Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Charlotte County. A straight-A student with a 4.0 grade-point average, Kvaternick said that she has been a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs for three years and she considers it her second home.
