PORT CHARLOTTE — Changing tack from last year’s unsuccessful efforts to bring a business and technology incubator to Charlotte County, Economic Development Director Tom Patton said this year the focus will be on marketing shovel-ready property near the Punta Gorda Airport to companies that are looking to expand in the Southwest Florida market.

“We are jumping in with both feet on marketing of the airport right now,” Patton told commissioners during a workshop Thursday at the Port Charlotte Beach Complex.
