Citing a lack of funding and support after just a two-year run, the Peace River Film Festival will roll up the red carpet and shut down its cameras for good.

Although it appeared to be a success, the event floundered because of the poor economic climate and no backing from the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau, according to Becky Bovell, a former festival committee member and Charlotte County tourism director.
