SARASOTA COUNTY — The REV3 Florida HalfRev Triathlon, an event that infused $600,000 into the local economy in October, will return to Sarasota County this year, but will be missing a key element — the bike course through North Port and Englewood.

“When we put our deal together with them, we knew they would be in our community somewhere for three years,” said Nicole Rissler, director of sports for the Sarasota County Sports Commission. “They made the decision to be back in the Venice community specifically because of the overwhelming community support. They just felt really welcome, and it’s a good fit for them.”
