Car strikes home; two injured

Two people were injured when their car crashed into a home on the 11300 block of Oceanspray Boulevard in Englewood just before midnight on Saturday, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, did not make curve and turned on its side and into the home, according to CCSO spokesman Bob Carpenter. One person was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, while the other person was taken to Englewood Community Hospital. No one in the home was hurt.
