‘Cinderella Project’ seeks dresses, accessories
NORTH PORT — The city’s Parks and Recreation Department and Every Child Inc. are in the process of planning for the fifth annual Cinderella Project, which provides dresses to teen girls who cannot afford to buy a gown for prom. Donations of quality new or “gently used” formal dresses, as well as accessories, can be dropped off at the George Mullen Activity Center, off Sumter Boulevard near City Hall, no later than March 11. On March 14, participants from the North Port area will have the opportunity to choose from hundreds of donated dresses and accessories until the perfect prom attire is found. For more information, call Kathy Forsyth, Parks and Recreation program coordinator, at 941-240-8120.
