PORT CHARLOTTE — It wasn’t the weather that halted the second day of the Charlotte Harbor Regatta and prematurely ended the first day of racing in the 2013 Laser Masters Midwinters East. It was the lack of same.
The day’s racing was called at 2:30 p.m. due to lack of wind, with John MacCausland leading after two legs of the second Lasers race. The Cherry River, N.J., resident had to settle for being the first of the Lasers to return to Port Charlotte Beach Park and get a start on hosing down his one-man craft.
