The Charlotte Local Education Foundation on Friday announced its five finalists each for Teacher of the Year and Support Employee of the Year.

The finalists for the teacher award are Analia DeHayes of Kingsway Elementary School, third grade; Melody Hazeltine of Liberty Elementary School, second grade; Michelle Kasanofsky of Port Charlotte High School, music; Paul Platt of Murdock Middle School, history; and Eric Portwood of Port Charlotte Middle School, history and art.
