Some area county land managers and trappers are beefing up tactics to bring their feral pig problems under control.

Sarasota County, which had one trapper for several large conservation areas, went out for bids recently to add two more and offered to pay an extra $20 bounty for every hog removed from additional “satellite” nature areas.
