Despite a weakened economy and a housing crisis that threatened to derail their plans for Babcock Ranch, officials for developer Kitson and Partners said their proposal to build a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly community in Eastern Charlotte County is still very much alive.

According to Tom Danahy, president of Kitson Babcock, a subsidiary of Kitson and Partners, activity on the massive, master-planned community is still ongoing behind the scenes.
