Twist emerges in landfill saga
In an unusual twist that has several Calusa Green proponents scratching their heads, cattle rancher and businessman Fred Hill met for two hours Dec. 18 with principals Bruce Laishley and Rick Treworgy and proposed the men go into business together on a landfill.
“We find it ironic that as much as Fred Hill opposes the Calusa Green landfill, that Fred scheduled a meeting with us and at that meeting proposed we leave Calusa Green and join him in building a landfill at a different location,” Laishley and Treworgy said in a joint statement to the Sun.
