The Peace River Film Festival held a mini-festival at the Punta Gorda Civic Association on Friday for those who could not attend the Film Festival in September. Eleven films were shown, with the last one written, directed, produced and edited by local resident Jon Rubin. His movie, called “Catch of the Day,” was shot in Punta Gorda at the Marathon gas station by another local resident, Tom Hamilton. Hamilton shot the entire short film on his iPhone.

The audio was done by yet another local, Patrick Mitchell. A question-and-answer session was held after the viewing of the films, and the mini-fest received such an overwhelming positive response that Peace River Film Festival committee member Lee Stein announced that he would like to have one each month.
