CAPE CORAL —Charlotte High School had a chance late in its first-round matchup against Fleming County in the Queen of Palms tournament Thursday at Ida Baker High School.
Sierra Rincones hit a 3-pointer to draw the Tarpons within five points with 2:24 to play. But the Panther defense, which had been tough all day, barely allowed Charlotte to take a shot in the last minutes and Fleming County won, 46-40.
