Local cheer team needs
$6K to attend championships

NORTH PORT — The North Port Mustangs Pee Wee Broncos cheer team has just earned a Southeast Regional first-place champion title, and needs $6,000 by Saturday afternoon to compete at the 2012 Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championship next week at Disney World.

Team mom Leah Moritz, whose 11-year-old daughter Megan competes on the team, said they are asking families and businesses in the community for assistance in helping the team achieve its goal as No. 1 in the nation.
