PUNTA GORDA — The trial of Roy Lee Poore, the Punta Gorda man accused of attempted second-degree murder in connection with an October 2011 stabbing incident that left the victim with life-threatening injuries, got under way Monday at the Charlotte County Justice Center as attorneys for both sides made their opening statements.
Jury selection lasted most of the day, with the jury being seated in the afternoon. The trial is expected to last three days.
