‘1800s Christmas’ coming
to North Port Library
NORTH PORT — The North Port Library’s sixth annual “1800s Christmas” will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at the library, 13800 S. Tamiami Trail. The event, themed “Step Into a Simpler Time, When Little Things Meant a Lot,” is free and open to the public.
The first 1800s Christmas event, the brainchild of Youth Services librarian Janet Hansen, took place in 2006 as a way to encourage North Porters to learn more about both olden times and the environment.
