Cody Adkinson hasn’t gone far to continue his cross country career.

The Port Charlotte High graduate was one of the freshmen this fall for the Florida Gulf Coast University men’s team. In the school’s 11 years of athletics, Adkinson is the second man from area schools to compete for FGCU, according to school records. Kyle Brunette of Venice High was the other.
