Charlotte County secured the last piece of the puzzle needed to move ahead with the
expansion of Midway Boulevard in the Parkside section of Port Charlotte.

The County Commission unanimously approved the purchase of a roughly 1.5-acre piece of property from First Presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte for $25,000. The land will be converted into a dry retention pond, which is needed for the completion of Midway Phase 2, a road project that calls for the widening of Midway Boulevard between Birchcrest Boulevard and Kings Highway.
