PUNTA GORDA — Hundreds attended the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Kiwanis Veterans Garden at Laishley Park on Sunday. There were veterans who served as far back as World War II as well as those who were deployed recently in Afghanistan.

While many former soldiers donned uniforms and proudly wore the medals awarded to them when they defended their country, few would discuss what they went through during that time.
