City road bond referendum passes
NORTH PORT — With all 12 city precincts reporting Tuesday night, voters have approved the $46M road bond referendum, 59.72% to 40.28%. The 27-year referendum will cost each taxpayer about $46 annually, starting next year. Work on 266 miles of city roads will begin in 2014. 12,499 residents voted for the referendum, 8,431, against.
