ENGLEWOOD — While still reviewing its accident reports, the Florida Highway Patrol on Thursday cleared a Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputy of blame in an Oct. 25 accident on State Road 776, despite a conflicting report at the time.

According to FHP and CCSO reports, Deputy John Walkuski, 41, was on patrol and heading west in the left lane of S.R. 776 at 9:51 a.m. Oct. 25.
