PORT CHARLOTTE — Minimal fireworks but entrenched party lines were the name of the game during a debate for Florida’s 17th Congressional District on Tuesday at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County.
While incumbent Republican candidate Tom Rooney and Democratic challenger William Bronson found some minimal common ground in issues facing the country and the state, they largely held firm to the views of their parties currently being played out on the national stage.
