SARASOTA COUNTY — Letters sent to some Sarasota County voters questioning their citizenship and asking for a Social Security or driver’s license number may look official, but they are not real.
According to county Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent, some local voters received the bogus letters by regular mail inquiring about their citizenship and ability to vote. The only way Dent sends letters about citizenship inquiries is through certified mail.
