The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office announced details for its ninth annual “Shop with a Cop” program for kids. Christmas and the holidays soon will be upon us, and the local Walmart stores and CCSO once again will play host to this great event.

Some 80 to 100 children from second through fifth grades will be selected by school counselors and paired with local law enforcement and corrections officers. Their selection is designed to develop positive relationships between our youth and the officers. Children will be supplied with $100 gift cards to purchase gifts for their family members and themselves. A gift-wrapping table will be set up to assist them in wrapping their chosen gifts.
