The City of Arcadia filed an appeal Oct. 11 with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity related to their decision granting former Finance Director Jorge Santana unemployment compensation.

Santana was fired Aug. 2 by City Administrator Judi Jankosky for allegedly falsifying his attendance records and claiming 25 minutes worth of pay during pay periods in June and July. The city also accused Santana of making derogatory comments regarding female employees.
