Plenty of good food, music and dancing were enjoyed by members of the Spanish American Society of Charlotte County at its annual scholarship fundraiser.

A dinner and dance was held Oct. 20 at the El Jobean Community Center in Port Charlotte. To raise money for two scholarships for students at Port Charlotte, Charlotte, and North Port high schools, each member paid $15 to attend. A 50/50 raffle was also held. The club has awarded scholarships for 15 years.
