Foundation aims to save one cancer patient at a time

Joining together to save one “cancer warrior” at a time is the goal of the Englewood Area Cancer Foundation, founded a year ago to fund research and support Englewood cancer patients, Lou Long said Monday at a meeting of the Cultural Guild of the Greater Cape Haze Peninsula.

ROTONDA — Area “cancer warriors,” as Lou Long prefers to call survivors, can join a free wellness program twice a week at the YMCA, Long announced Monday during a meeting of the Cultural Guild of the Greater Cape Haze Peninsula.

Saving one cancer patient at a time is the goal of the Englewood Area Cancer Foundation. Long serves as its founder and president.
