SARASOTA COUNTY — As the road to the Nov. 6 general election draws closer to an end, campaign finance reports show incumbent Sarasota County District 3 Commissioner Christine Robinson has $33,484 remaining to spend in her campaign war chest — compared with just $1,064 for her opponent, Democrat Jennifer Cohen of North Port.
Robinson, a South Venice Republican who was appointed to the commission seat in 2010 following the retirement of longtime commissioner Shannon Staub, has raised a
total of $95,638 since October 2011, according to campaign finance reports provided by the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections. This includes $1,592 in in-kind contributions, which can consist of campaign photos, refreshments for fundraisers or other items that are donated for campaign use.
