(NORTHEAST CHARLOTTE COUNTY) The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reports that State Road 31 has been reopened near Neal Road in northeastern Charlotte County (near the DeSoto County line) due to rollover of semi carrying mulch. CCSO received the call at 7:49 a.m. Fire and EMS crews extricated the driver from the vehicle at 9:59 a.m. Traffic is moving in both directions, although it is slow going.

An Aeromed helicopter took the driver to Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Unit at 10:04 a.m. A Towing vehicle and FHP are also on scene while deputies reroute traffic. Please contact FHP for any further details about the crash.
