PUNTA GORDA — Joseph “Joe” Sabatino of Punta Gorda has been named president of the St. Vincent de Paul Council of the Catholic Diocese of Venice in Florida.

The council helps to coordinate programs and fundraising efforts to aid the needy in the diocese’s 10 counties: Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee and Sarasota.
