Five Charlotte County businesses are among more than 20 businesses and organizations in Charlotte, Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties joining together for a feral cat food drive throughout October.

The four-county effort is part of National Feral Cat Day on
Oct. 16, which is an
annual nationwide event to further awareness of how to care for feral and free-roaming community cats. All donated food will be shared with low-income residents who are caring for feral cat colonies.
