MURDOCK — With no public comment and little board discussion, the Charlotte County Commission on Thursday night approved the final passage of a $515.7 million net budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

In a speedy meeting that lasted 15 minutes, commissioners voted 3-1 to accept the overall plan, which keeps the countywide millage rate flat at 6.2796 mills. A mill equals $1 in taxes per $1,000 of a property’s taxable value.
