MURDOCK — The parking lot of the Charlotte Technical Center became a landing platform Tuesday morning when a helicopter descended from the sky, dropping in on a large group of students enrolled in the school’s aerospace program.

“We are trying to show students a different area of flight,” said Stephen Nowell, maintenance instructor for the certified airframe and power plant mechanical class. “We are showing them different types of aircraft that they should be interested in.”
