PORT CHARLOTTE — Port Charlotte High School used a crushing running attack and a bruising defense to beat Palmetto Ridge 32-20 on Friday night.

The Pirates (3-1) rushed for 315 yards, pulling away in the second half for the victory. Quarterback Traige McClary rushed for 127 yards and had 54 yards passing to lead the Pirates.
