Romney brings message to area

SARASOTA — Nearly 5,000 people waited several hours in the searing heat Thursday at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art for a chance to see and hear a message from someone who could be the next president of the United States.
The crowd began lining up hours before the scheduled arrival of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the Republican hopeful for the White House who will face incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama in the Nov. 6 election. Homemade and official campaign signs, stickers, buttons and clothing bearing Romney and running mate Paul Ryan’s names were everywhere and available for sale.
