The private Coral Creek Airport is seeing land clear to extend its runway. The airport will also be landscaped and the entire project should be completed by the end of this year.

Crews have been busy clearing away exotic and other vegetation for the extension of the runway at the private Coral Creek Airport on Gasparilla Road. Approved site plans are on filed with Charlotte County showing additional hangers and other improvements, but owner Steven Busch said the implementation of other improvements are a long way off.
PLACIDA — Construc-tion crews are clearing vegetation at the private Coral Creek Airport-Boca Grande Jet Center on Gasparilla Road.
The land clearing is a sign that the airport’s new owners are ready to take off with plans to extend the airport’s runway from 4,200 linear feet to 6,000 linear feet and 100 feet wide. The airport will also be landscaped and the project completed by the end of this year.
