DESOTO COUNTY — The DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners approved the county’s 2012-2013 fiscal year millage rate and budget Tuesday night.

The county’s property tax rate of 6.8978 mills was approve unanimously. One mil is equal to $1 for every $1,000 of taxable property value. Commissioners also signed off on a .4514 rate for emergency medical services, for a total of 7.3501 mills.
