The aging fountain in Lake Katherine is listing and barely sputtering, not exactly a scenic attraction for visitors who enter Arcadia via State Route 70 from the west. But a Mosaic Co. grant will help replace the landmark and pave the way for other improvements there.

ARCADIA — Team Arcadia has big plans for a day of fishing at Lake Katherine to kick off the group’s park renovation project.
Join Team Arcadia from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 for a day of catch-and-release fishing for children up to age 16, with prizes for the biggest fish, smallest fish and most fish caught. Families are urged to pack a picnic, bring a blanket or lawn chairs, and bring the kids and their fishing gear to see what they can catch.
