ARCADIA — Neither team could hold onto the ball Friday night, but DeSoto County High School held onto its lead as it beat Okeechobee 23-7.

The Bulldogs (2-0) fumbled five times, losing two and often giving the Brahmans (1-1) a short field. But Okeechobee couldn’t take advantage of the turnovers, and itself turned the ball over three times. Austin Lambright and Jordan Washington both recovered fumbles for the Bulldogs, one of which led to a touchdown early in the second half.
