SARASOTA COUNTY — Based on demographic projections, there will be no need for any new schools for at least the next five years, according to Sarasota County and school district officials.

Although the county can expect to have a population of about 508,000 by 2040, the most recent census data from 2010 show the county has approximately 349,500 residents, according to information from the Sarasota County Planning office.
